Streams |
Streams are the poetical nerve of the landscape. –A perpetuum mobile of ripples and eddies in an unceasing migration towards the sea. And at the same time a long chain of animal and plant communities that absorb the influence of the surroundings.
These influences should be recorded by a monitoring programme in order for the management to effectively secure a good environmental condition of the stream.
WaterFrame can offer assistance with establishing and carrying out monitoring programmes, analysis and reporting of the biological, hydromorphological and physico-chemical conditions, both on individual sites and on the level of entire drainage basins:
- Determination of species and abundances of macrophytes in the stream and in the riparian surroundings.
- Sampling and identification of macroinvertebrates.
- Measurements of stream gradients, current velocity, current profiles and transects.
- Sampling of surface water for chemical analysis.

-
Fish sampling with quantitative methods for estimation of abundance, e.g. removal methods, catch-mark-recapture methods, and Point Abundance Sampling (PAS).
All assignments are subjected to procedures for quality assurance and quality control, and follow the latest European CEN standards.
